What Is The Actual Treatment?

Patients typically receive 2 separate injections of bone marrow-derived stem cells for each affected eye, followed by intravenous bone marrow-derived stem cells. The procedure is performed as an outpatient at the ParkCreek Surgery Center under general or MAC anesthesia by board-certified anesthesiologists. Bone marrow aspiration is painless and performed by our board-certified orthopedic surgeon.

Treatment is provided by our board-certified and fellowship-trained retinal surgeon. A minimum 3-night stay is required in the area to allow a preop day, procedure day, and postop visit. Patients may return home the postop day, and flying is perfectly fine. Cost is typically USD $19,600.00 but can be as much as USD $21,600 for the most complex procedure.
